Genevieve (she/her/hers) is a content producer at MediaJustice. She is an experienced multimedia journalist, producer, and trained anthropologist who focuses on telling stories that highlight systemic issues within society. Genevieve’s dedication to taking a decolonial and anti-imperial approach to storytelling has led her to research and explore topics on diaspora and identity, immigration, food, and politics. She graduated from SOAS, University of London, with a MA in the anthropology of food, during which she wrote extensively about her Haitian identity and Haiti. For her Master’s thesis, she analyzed and critiqued negative mainstream narratives promoted about Haiti through the lens of food media. An avid cook, she loves anything and everything food related and explores new recipes in her spare time. She is currently based in Los Angeles, California.
