Christine (she/her/hers) is the Temporary Membership Organizer at MediaJustice. As a filmmaker, educator, and organizer, she brings over twenty years of experience working with community groups, designing programs, and creating curricula focused on immigration, healing and trauma, restorative justice, housing justice, and indigenous sovereignty. Prior to joining MediaJustice, Christine was the Education Director at the Maysles Documentary Center where she designed and managed film programs centered around community building and social change, and proudly served on the Board of CAAAV: Organizing Asian Communities, supporting the leadership of low-income Asians to fight displacement and build the movement for racial and economic justice. Christine was part of a collective that launched the community-based mural and education project, “From Harlem with Love: A Mural for Yuri & Malcolm,” in honor of Yuri Kochiyama and Malcolm X. Christine also worked as a development consultant with Equality for Flatbush, a Black/POC-led organization working for police accountability and housing justice that launched a highly impactful mutual aid campaign at the onset of the COVID pandemic. Born in North Carolina, with deep roots in New York City, Christine is now based in Los Angeles with her partner, two kids, and their dog. She is grateful for nature, giraffes, stand-up comedy, coffee, and being a mom of two wise and lovingly-wild kids.
