As the United States is facing an unprecedented emergency, with almost all Americans—old and young—required to work, learn, and function while staying at home, the need for connectivity across the country has never been greater. Internet and telephone access are extremely urgent at this time as families stay at home to protect public health and struggle to recreate their lives online. Existing disparities in communications access are only being exacerbated during this national emergency. We demand the FCC immediately take the swift action to adapt the Lifeline program to meet the COVID-19 crisis.
