Current Political Landscape

This is a midterm election year unlike any other. The AI industry has already committed hundreds of millions of dollars to the 2026 races. Leading the Future, an AI-PAC launched to back pro-AI candidates, has raised over $125 million. Meta is spending $65 million to influence state level races. Andreessen Horowitz is the cycles largest disclosed donor at $115.5 million, joined by Open AI’s Greg Brockman.

The aim: block state AI regulation and protect a data center buildout worth hundreds of billions. But their own coalition is cracking. The Senate killed their federal moratorium 99-1, the right is fracturing over AI, and recent polling shows the majority of people don’t want a data center near them.

Underneath the money, the conditions are brutal. The Voting Rights Act has been gutted, an attack on Black political power. Wealth inequality widens as the administration and tech oligarchy sell war and surveillance. Communities face immigration raids, data centers draining local power and water, rising costs, and cuts to basic services.

This level of state capture by Big Tech is possible because our opposition is resourced to buy everything: they can lose ten times and come back again. They can defend their power via litigation, lobbying, and greenwashing simultaneously.

Who are the BroBots?

Under Trump’s second term, we’ve been witnessing tech industry power and authoritarianism rapidly combine. The Broligarchy has achieved so much power
that they now have minions: BroBots.

A BroBot is an individual who sells out people and the planet for a profit-driven
tech supremacist world. They use, sell, and promote the tools and the story that
keep the Tech Oligarchy in power. BroBots are agents of social control and
democracy suppression.

You already know them. They run the systems that shape your block, your paycheck, and your feed right now. The data brokers who steal and sell our data. The financial service industry agents who use AI for discrimination in mortgage lending and credit risk assessment. The local politicans that take money from crypto and AI-PACs in exchange for a blank check for tech projects.

BroBots v. The People is how we fight back. Expose who is selling our communities out to the tech broligarchy. Put their names on it. Turn exposure into organized pressure through November.

MediaJustice’s campaign answers the question “but what do we do about how much Big Tech has rigged our elections?” For MediaJustice’s base, it deepens relationships, builds skills, and tests the field’s capacity to move in a coordinated manner at a major inflection point.

Our campaign’s three pillars

1. Content: Follow the money and make it make sense

2. Coordination: Turn the analysis into action people can take where they live

3. Convening: Bring the field together to read the moment, decide what’s next
