HannahSassaman, of the Media Mobilizing Project has been appointed as MAG-Net’s representative to the Federal Communications Commission’s Consumer Advisory Committee. The Advisory Committee is responsible for gathering public input and making recommendations to the FCC on how Internet providers should disclose information to consumers.
“This committee has very important work before it and is one forum among many to put voices of everyday people at the table with other powerful consumer and community groups, industry officials, and decision makers. Hannah is a longtime media justice organizer and has helped lead and design the grassroots organizing and legislative strategy that resulted in the passage of the Local Community Radio Act. She is a member of the Board of Directors of Allied Media Project, a trustee at the Valentine Foundation and the mom of incredible toddler Sara Bela Sassaman Marcus.
