Making Contact is an award-winning, 29-minute weekly magazine/documentary-style public affairs program heard on 151 radio stations in the USA, Canada, South Africa and Ireland. Our work heightens public consciousness, broadens debate on critical social issues and encourages civic participation, by giving voice to diverse perspectives and opinions overlooked or ignored in corporate media. Our goal is to produce media that informs, inspires, and moves people to take action.
The Prometheus Radio Project is a non-profit organization founded by a small group of radio activists in 1998. Prometheus builds, supports and advocates for community radio stations that bring together and empower local, participatory voices and movements for social change. To that end, we demystify technologies, the political process that governs access to our media system, and the effects of media on our lives and our communities.
BAJI educates and engages African American and black immigrant communities to organize and advocate for racial, social and economic justice. Local BAJI Organizing Committees in New York, Georgia, California and Arizona build coalitions and initiate campaigns among communities to push for racial justice.
BAJI’s flagship project is the Black Immigration Network (BIN), a national alliance that brings together black-led organizations and programs to advance just immigration policies and promote cultural shifts our communities need. The BIN kinship provides a safe, communal space for diverse black communities to connect, engage and advocate for equality and justice for all.

PTP was founded by grassroots organizers to support social change community-led organizing in low-income communities and communities of color in 1998. PTP strengthens grassroots social change community organizing in poor communities and communities of color by delivering specialized training for community organizers in communications and database technology creating and supporting an online database (PowerBase) for organizing providing a framework for technical assistance.

BYP 100 is an activist member-based organization of Black 18-35 year olds, dedicated to creating justice and freedom for all Black people.
Prison Radio’s mission is to challenge unjust police and prosecutorial practices which result in mass incarceration, racism and gender discrimination. We do this by bringing the voices of men, women and kids into the public debate and dialogue on crime and punishment. Our radio broadcasts help spur the public to examine core issues that create crime and heighten disenfranchisement. Our educational materials serve as a catalyst for public activism, strengthening movements for social change.
