Did you know that nearly 25% of T-Mobile's 34 million customers are Latino? Why are we such big fans of T-Mobile? Probably because it offers more affordable plans and phones than any other national cell phone service provider. And as you know, cell phone service is expensive, especially for Latinos. Despite the fact that 25% of Latinos are in poverty, we pay more for cell phones than any other demographic group – on average $104 per month. If AT&T takes over T-Mobile, it will be a disaster for Latin@ mobile phone users across the country, in rural and urban areas alike. That's why we must do everything we can to stop this takeover! Next week, the California Public Utility Commission is holding two public hearings on the merger — in Fresno and San Diego. Both cities have large Latino populations, providing an opportunity to ensure our voices are heard! This is our chance to let the CPUC know that a takeover will lead to increased cost, decreased choice, and the loss of thousands of jobs. Fourteen national Latino groups have already given the proposed takeover a thumbs-up — we cannot let them speak for us. Join us next week at San Diego and Fresno public hearings: Monday, July 25 at 6 p.m. Al Bahr Shriner Center 5440 Kearny Mesa Rd., San Diego Wednesday, July 27 at 6 p.m. Holiday Inn at Fresno Airport, Kings Canyon / Sequoia Room 5090 East Clinton Way, Fresno ¡Ya es Hora, Just say No!
