What is research? 

Research is often mystified, made into something only “professional” researchers can do. But we are all researchers. We all search for information. When we go online looking to buy shoes or change phone providers we research the best deals. With current phones and other devices, everyone is a researcher of some sort. But that doesn’t mean we can all do research on EM. That requires some training and practice. In terms of EM, much of the most important information rests with those impacted by the devices. Often the best person to capture that information is another person with the experience of EM. University-based academics and lawyers do have research skills to offer. But their research alone will not give us a complete picture. We need the voices of and analysis from those with direct experience.
