MediaJustice

As we fight for racial, economic and gender justice in a digital age, at MediaJustice, we are dedicated to ongoing learning about how digital tools are used to automate and amplify existing systems of oppression as well as how to acknowledge and articulate our power within these systems.

MediaJustice is proud to host Understanding AI (Artificial Intelligence)  a political education series to learn more about how artificial intelligence is affecting us now and in the future.

RSVP here to join us on March 23rd 5-8pm ET for our Coded Bias: Documentary Screening and Political Education Workshop.

Grab your popcorn and load up on some #MediaJustice analysis as we watch together and demystify how algorithms increasingly govern our lives. We’ll look at how power works across the landscape of people, money and ideologies and connect with each other to discuss harms and strategies related to this.

After the screening, there will be a discussion and an opportunity to win some prizes with some friendly competitive trivia later! RSVP here so you don’t miss out on a fun, informative night.

When registering, please indicate any virtual access needs you may have so we can accomodate you.

AI is more than C3PO and Alexa. Artificial Intelligence and algorithms are becoming universal. However AI can create unfair, biased outcomes that can limit what job you get, the school you go to, whether you can buy a home and more.

Learn from Senior Legal Counsel, Vinchent Le from Greenlining Institute, a MediaJustice Network member, in our Policy Workshop. In this interactive discussion, we will learn about real world examples of algorithmic discrimination, how AI can “learn” bias, as well as where AI policy is today and what we can do in the future to prevent algorithmic discrimination and promote AI equity.

Join us on April 27th, 5pm – 6:30pm EST by RSVPing here: https://bit.ly/427policy

Please note space is limited. Network members have priority for registration until April 12th, after which registration will open up to partners and allies.
