Saludos from St. Louis, where we’re kicking off our Shifting Terrain listening tour (more on this soon :)) to connect with partners across our communities. We’re lucky to be part of the media justice movement full of organizations that lead critical work on issues affecting our people, including how the current technology landscape impacts migrant justice.
Over the past few months, we’ve seen how the Trump regime and the Tech Broligarchy have targeted Undoc+ and migrant communities by using racist, violent media narratives, weaponizing so-called artificial intelligence to expand the surveillance and deportation machine, and manufacturing criminalization through large-scale raid operations by ICE and other federal police agencies, like last month’s raids in Northern Virginia.
As part of our new organizational strategy, Shifting Terrain, we are launching Digital Dialogues, our partnership with on-the-ground organizers during rapid response moments. Digital Dialogues supports political education and direct our people to actions in support of community demands. We had the opportunity to collaborate with La ColectiVA and other partners in Northern Virginia responding to raids by hosting a dialogue about How State and Corporate Collusion Fuels ICE’s Deportation Machine. Presenters included the Committee in Solidarity with the People of El Salvador, La ColectiVA, Just Futures Law, and the National Immigrant Justice Center. We broke down how communities are resisting the latest attacks from the Trump regime, the role that public officials have played in expanding the weapons this administration are using, and how copaganda fuels the cycle of violence against Undoc+ and migrant communities.
Following that, we also hosted WTF is Tech Doing on Immigration?, as part of MediaJustice’s current biweekly political education series, WTF: The Rise of the Tech Broligarchy. We were joined by amazing speakers including Nana Gyamfi from Black Alliance for Just Immigration, Cynthia Rodriguez from Mijente, and Paromita Shah from Just Futures Law.
Key takeaways from the session were clear:

Los Diálogos digitales apoyan la educación política, y dirigen a nuestra gente hacia acciones en apoyo de las demandas de la comunidad. Tuvimos la oportunidad de colaborar con La ColectiVA y y otres compas en el norte de Virginia respondiendo a las redadas, organizando un Diálogo digital sobre, Cómo el estado y las corporaciones coluden para acelerar la máquina de deportación de ICE. Nos acompañaron presentadores increíbles, incluyendo Nana Gyamfi de Black Alliance for Just Immigration, Cynthia Rodríguez de Mijente y Paromita Shah de Just Futures Law. Las conclusiones clave de la sesión fueron claras:
