MediaJustice

Jacinta González is MediaJustice’s inaugural Head of Programs. As a member of the Executive Team, González will optimize MediaJustice’s strategic framework while ensuring its programmatic areas are aligned with the organization’s new direction. She’ll also build and strengthen key alliances with external stakeholders.

González brings more than 15 years of experience building powerful movements. Before joining MediaJustice, González was the Policy Director for Mijente, where she organized across Mijente’s membership to block racist immigration policies, expose corporations harming communities, and challenge the use of surveillance technologies by federal law enforcement agencies. Served in various leadership roles since its founding in 2015, González disrupted Palantir’s ability to recruit on college campuses across the U.S through the groundbreaking No Tech for ICE campaign.

She also worked at PODER in México, where she organized the Río Sonora River Basin committees against water contamination by the mining industry. Jacinta was the lead organizer for the New Orleans Workers’ Center for Racial Justice Congress of Day Laborers (2007-2014). In Louisiana, González helped establish a base of day laborers and undocumented families dedicated to building worker power, advancing racial justice, and organizing against deportations in post-Katrina New Orleans.
